Let Go of “Supposed To”

Affirmation: I am doing my best and that is enough.

Use these photos as a tool to meditate. They are from The Bible app. Find prayer in the menu. This a nice tool to help you meditate and pray.

The Certain Decision (Andy Andrews)
I have a decided heart.
It’s not about what it IS…
It’s about what it can BECOME!

What you decide in your heart will be done and the light of God will shine on your ways. Job 22:28

The Certain Decision for personal success is what fuels your actions from the active decision. The clarity of vision you maintain in your mind is directly proportional to the effectiveness of your actions. A decided heart is unwavering in the face of continual challenges and setbacks and that ensures victory and a lifetime of greater fulfillment.

HOPE, DREAMS, ANTICIPATION…

“Supposed To”
Brené Brown found that we doubt ourselves and our gifts and talents. She calls them Gremlins…Gremlins that whisper to you.
“Maybe everyone has a talent…except for you. That’s why you haven’t figured it out.”
“Yes, you do that well. But that’s not really a gift. It’s not big enough or important enough to be a gift or a talent.”

I (Jacque) have thought that if I could do something, everyone else could do it too. So my talents and gifts didn’t really exist because I was just like everyone else.

Brené says that the way we silence the Gremlins is to acknowledge these “supposed to” messages and own them.
“What makes me afraid?” “What’s on my “supposed to list?” “Who says?” “Why?”

The Gremlins are likened to toddlers…if you ignore them they get louder. The best way to deal with “Supposed to Gremlins” is to acknowledge them and actually write down the “supposed-to” messages. Writing down these inner messages weakens the hold and power they have on you and your thinking. It gives you power. “I get it. I see that I’m afraid of this but I’m going to do it anyway.”

This is my Bible Reading from today. The focus of the 3 Bible passages is on God’s Love for us and His determination to let us know that no matter what…He loves us.
