Cultivate Gratitude and Joy

The Joyful Decision TODAY I WILL CHOOSE TO BE HAPPY.
Happiness is a choice. I am enthusiastic about each day. I am alert to its possibilities.
I will become the master of my emotions.
I will greet each day with laughter. I know that enthusiasm is the fuel that moves the world.
The world belongs to the enthusiastic, for people will follow them anywhere! My smile has become my calling card. It is, after all, the most important weapon I possess. I am the possessor of a grateful spirit. 
Create Systems and Habits:What you read on this blog each day are from my daily electronic calendar. These reminders pop up each on my phone, ipad and computer. I hand write them into my planner as a way to cement them in my mind and see them again. Without understanding what I was doing, I created a system of thoughts and habits. My goal was to become more of the woman God created me to be. I read books, listen to podcasts, write and journal, create. All with the “goal” of being the best person I can be. I have read the Bible, Devotional books, Brené Brown: Gifts of Imperfection, Daring Greatly, Rising Strong, Braving the Wilderness, Atlas of the Heart Andy Andrews: Traveller’s Gift, Mastering 7 Decisions James Clear: Atomic Habits, Adam Grant: Think Again,Kelly McGonigal: Upside of StressMalcolm Gladwell: How yo Talk to Strangers
Currently, James Clear has my attention as I reframe my goals to become habits, and create Systems to support the habits. I believe I am smart. I believe I am capable. I believe I am determined. But over more than 6 decades of my life I had habits that weren’t smart nor productive. My doctor has informed me that I am pre-diabetic….my eating habits need to change. I have gained too much weight. I am a clutter-bug.  There are other results in my life, too, that need new habits.James Clear’s book has been motivating and encouraging. Currently, I am building personal systems to build the daily habit of meditation and time with God. Think about your life, your habits, what is a habit that will move you forward to the life you desire.Make your list, buy Atomic Habits and get started.
