November 13: We Ought To Be Fighting…

Affirmation: I nourish my body, mind and soul.
~~~~~~~~~
Ponder, Personalize, Practice: As you continue to memorize and meditate on Matthew 6:33-34, personalize the words of Jesus. I am making it my prayer: “God,  I seek Your kingdom & Your righteousness. I know You will meet all my needs. I know I don’t need to worry because I trust You. I know each day has enough to deal with… Help me focus on You.”
“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”Matthew 6:33-34 NIV
Cultivate Intuition and Trusting Faith. Let Go of The Need for Certainty.
GET INSPIRED
Is there a book or song that inspires you to reconnect with your faith and/or intuition? Right now, I'm stuck on Loretta Lynn singing "How Great Thou Art."
GET GOING
Make a commitment to speak your mantra two times today or tomorrow. Pay attention to when, where and how you say it. When is it helpful? What does it do for you?
Mastering the 7 Decisions from Andy Andrews
The Persistent Decision
7. I WILL PERSIST WITHOUT EXCEPTION.
I possess the greatest power ever bestowed upon mankind. I hold fast to my dreams. I stay the course. I do not quit.
I acknowledge that most people quit when exhaustion sets in, but I am not “most people.”
I am stronger than most people. Average people compare themselves with other people, and that is why they remain average.
I compare myself to my potential. I am not average. I see exhaustion as a precursor to victory. By persisting without exception, my outcome—my success—is assured.
We Ought To Be Fighting To Get The Worst Parking Spots At Our Church.
A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed. Proverbs 11:25
There are few places like parking lots to bring out the worst in us. It is the only place teenagers cut off elderly people without a second thought. People throw their arms up and signal out their windows, exasperated at the thought of someone else getting 10 feet closer to the building. Parking lots show us what we are made of.
There’s several churches I’ve been to where the people seem to be fighting over the worst parking spots. the staff, the pastor, the people all park as far away from the building as possible so another person can get a little closer. They don’t make a big deal out of it either. In fact, no one really even knows. It’s a beautiful picture of what the church is really about. The small act is a signal of a larger decision so many have made to follow Jesus’s teaching of becoming servants, being the first to sign up to be last. Most of us will never face a choice to physically give our lives for another person. But we can die to ourselves by making small sacrifices, day, in, and day out, to put other people first.
Life becomes an adventure when we start to view every moment as an invitation to celebrate other people. If you make it a point to find opportunities to put others first, you will never run out of chances. In a world where everyone competes for the best spot, sign up to be last and watch what happens next. And here’s the best part: if we do it right, nobody will ever know.
Who can you celebrate today?
