November 18 Love Big. Pack Light.

Affirmation: I accept my fears and doubts and move forward anyway.

“Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?” (Matthew 6:27)

Worry will discourage us to take even the smallest step. In many cases, it’s not that God’s unable to perform miracles rather it’s us who refuse to take that one small step needed to be the starting point for God’s miracle.

Ponder, Personalize, Practice: Each wwek we get a new verse to ponder and meditate on as we pray and talk to God. This verse is a question Jesus asked His listeners. Talk to God about your concerns and worries. Put them all in Jesus’s hands.

Cultivate Creativity. Let go of Comparison.

Today be aware of when you compare yourself to others. Or have thoughts about not being enough. You are a creative being. You are enough.
HEALING OUR CREATIVE WOUNDS

We are encouraged to be creative as children, but then many of us start hearing messages that we're not good enough. How can we heal these creative wounds with positive messages?

RECOMMENDED MATERIALS

Your journal, permanent markers (different colors), Band-Aids and any other art supplies you'd like to use to decorate your page.

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Open your journal to a new page. Using a red permanent marker, write down all the negative messages about creativity you have heard in your life, both directly and from society in general.

2. Now, cover these messages with Band-Aids.

3. Using a permanent marker in a different color, write healing messages to yourself on top of the Band-Aids.

4. Use any other art supplies you'd like to decorate your page of creative, healing messages.~~~~~~~~~~

5. TODAY I WILL CHOOSE TO BE HAPPY.
Happiness is a choice. I am enthusiastic about each day. I am alert to its possibilities.
I will become the master of my emotions.
I will greet each day with laughter. I know that enthusiasm is the fuel that moves the world.
The world belongs to the enthusiastic, for people will follow them anywhere! My smile has become my calling card. It is, after all, the most important weapon I possess. I am the possessor of a grateful spirit.

Joyful Decision
Today, I choose to be happy.

Walk in Grace. Live in Love. by Bob Goff

November 18
Love Big. Pack Light.

A certain ruler asked him, “Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?” Luke 18:18

A well-off, guy approaced Jesus and asked Him what it would take to get eternal life. He thought he had the means to earn his ticket, but Jesus surprised him: “Sell all your stuff, give to the poor, and follow me.” It sounds demanding, but Jesus was showing this guy the value of traveling with a light backpack.
If you were to take the backpack of your life and dump it onto your bed, what would you find? Is your job something you couldn’t give up? What about that girlfriend or boyfriend? Or the house or city you live in? I know, this is a tough exercise. I really feel for this guy who is so bold to ask Jesus the question. He did not get an easy answer – and I don’t think we’ll find easy answers either.

As followers of Jesus, we are invited to leave everything behind and follow him. To travel light. But our nature and the world tug us back. Our insecurity loads us up with a bunch of things we don’t need. We don’t carry these because we need them; we pack them around because we have a hard time putting them down. I am not suggesting that God wants us to explode our lives as we know them… But I also think he wants us to blow a couple of things up. I think He wants us to offload and walk away from anything that is keeping us from Him.

To follow Jesus, we should learn to love big and pack light, the less we carry of our worries, stuff, personal vendettas, and poisonous relationships, the freer we will be to explore the frontiers of love.

What do you need to get rid of so you can travel later today
