November 9: Fill Your Life With Gratitude & You’ll Spill Over With Love

Affirmation: I look in the mirror, and I love who I see…and so does God.

For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only son that whoever believes in Him shall not die, but will have eternal life. John 3:16

Ponder, Personalize, Practice: Today focus on practicing Luke 12:7. In our family when we find a feather we take it as a reminder that we are valued by God and He is watching over us each day just like the sparrows. Memorize the verse and talk to God about any fears. Last night as we walked around the block I found a large white feather. A beautiful reminder that God cares about me and I can trust Him and not be afraid.

Luke 12:7 Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid, you are worth more than many sparrows.

3. I AM A PERSON OF ACTION. I am Resilient
I will create a new future by creating a new me. I inspire others with my activity. I am a leader. I will create a habit of lively behavior.
I will walk with a spring in my step and a smile on my face. My activity will create a wave of success for the people who follow me. As a leader, I have the ability to encourage and inspire others to greatness. I do not fear failure, because failure exists only for the person who quits.
I do not quit. I am courageous. I am a leader. I seize the moment. I choose now. I am resilient.

November 9Fill Your Life With Gratitude & You’ll Spill Over With Love
“I will praise God‘s name and sing and glorify him with Thanksgiving.” Psalm 69:30

They say you can divide the world into two types of people: those who see the glass as half full and those who see it as half empty. But I don’t see this as optimism or pessimism. To me, it’s more about gratitude. Instead of one or the other, I tend to think “wow, I’ve got something in my glass.”

I have a friend who wakes up every day and lists 10 things he’s grateful for, it could be the sunrise or his family or the cup of coffee he is about to drink. It could be health, his spouse, or his favorite flavor of ice cream. Whatever is on the list is less important than making the list itself. When we take a moment to be grateful, we realize how much we have, and it leads to thankfulness.

Now, I’m not a Pollyanna. There are hard days, difficult circumstances, and tragic moments. We have all had them and been with friends through them. But I believe those are out numbered by the things we can be grateful for.

Remember the time in the Bible when the disciples were trying to rank themselves and figure out who was going to sit closest to Jesus in heaven? “How full is my glass?“ And “Is my glass better than the next guy’s glass?“ Is what they were asking. Instead of giving in to our tendency to focus on what we don’t have, Jesus simply says to us “You have Me.“ And if that’s not enough to fill you, nothing will be. Let’s be grateful people, and the love of Jesus will spill out of our lives.

What is your outlook on life right now? How can you be more grateful?
