January 13: Show What You Believe By How You Love

Affirmation: I nourish my body, mind and soul.

As you ponder Philippians 4:4-7, today notice the impact on your body, mind and soul.
~~~~~~~
Ponder: Read these verses over about 5 times to begin memorizing. Ponder and meditate on the message of these 4 verses.  Then talk to God.
”Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
‭‭ And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.“
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭4-7 NIV‬‬
Ponder: Read these verses over & over.
Show What You Really Believe By How You Love.
If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love just as I have kept my father‘s commands and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy maybe in you and that your joy may be complete. My command is this: love each other as I have loved you.John 15:10-12
Jesus wants to ask Simon Peter, “who does everybody say I am?” It is an honest question, and Simon Peter responded, “Well, some say you’re a teacher.” Jesus was indeed an awesome teacher. He had all kinds of things to teach and say to those around him.
Simon Peter said, “There are other people who say you are a prophet.” And Jesus was all that too. He told the people what God wanted of them.
Then Simon Peter volunteered, “I think you are God. Could” And Jesus said, using different words,“you are right.”
Jesus said, “Don’t tell anybody.”
I am sure Peter was thinking, what in the world? I don’t think Jesus was asking His friends to keep a secret. I think He wanted to show people who He was not just tell people.
Sometimes we think what we need to do is give people more information about Jesus when what they need is evidence of what we believe unveiled in our lives. The truth is most people have all the information they need; what we need are examples. And you and I are to be those.
Everyone has something they say they believe; however, it is what we do, not what we say we believe, that defines us. Every selfless act of love is a declaration of faith. Every day, your actions and mine are saying to the world, “This is what we believe to be true about who Jesus is,” and every time we do something unselfish, we move everyone a little closer to him.
How will you declare your faith today?
