February 21: Live Out Your God-Created Identity

Deuteronomy 7:9

 Know therefore that the LORD your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.

Live Out Your God-Created Identity 

"In a word what I am saying is, grow up. You're kingdom subjects, now live like it. 

Live out your God-created identity. Live generously and graciously toward others, the way God lives toward you."

MATTHEW 5:4 

When we abandon the way of knee jerk ethics, mindlessly reacting to the words and actions of others, we are free to become what love and grace stimulate in us- a wholesomeness that will finally be perfect.

 

Compare this with Ephesians 4:15-16.

 

 Fashion in me what is obedient, eternal God, what is trusting and loving.  Deal with what is rebellious, wayward, and misguided. I submtt myself to your potter's hand. Amen.
