November 11: Where Love Finds Us, It Will Lead Us

Veteran’s Day: I am grateful to those who have served to give us freedom. Thank you to each of you who have served or are serving and to those who gave their lives while in the military.
~~~~~~
Affirmation: My feelings deserve to be expressed. (My thoughts about this…write and journal, first. Express your feelings in a safe place, first. You don’t want to do damage by spouting off. Figure out what is behind those feelings then take your next steps)
~~~~~~~~
Ponder, Personalize, Practice: Matthew 6:33-34 comes from Jesus as he was teaching. Ponder these 2 verses, memorize them, talk them God today about what you need to focus on.

“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”Matthew 6:33-34 NIV

Guidepost 5: Cultivating Intuition and Trusting Faith, Letting Go of the Need for Certainty

All humans have a craving for certainty and control.

But there’s only so much you ever can control in life. There’s a limit to the level of certainty you can experience. (Especially if you’re creating something new or meaningful.)

Which is why intuition and faith are so helpful. They’re powerful tools for navigating uncertain environments.

Intuition might seem a nebulous word. But it’s actually quite simple. Intuition is a cognitive process where your mind compares the situation you’re in with all the others you’ve ever experienced. This happens at a subconscious level, which is why it’s difficult to explain your intuitions and hunches.

Mastering the 7 Decisions from Andy Andrews
5. TODAY I WILL CHOOSE TO BE HAPPY.
Happiness is a choice. I am enthusiastic about each day. I am alert to its possibilities.
I will become the master of my emotions.
I will greet each day with laughter. I know that enthusiasm is the fuel that moves the world.
The world belongs to the enthusiastic, for people will follow them anywhere! My smile has become my calling card. It is, after all, the most important weapon I possess. I am the possessor of a grateful spirit.

Joyful Decision
Today, I choose to be happy.

You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore. Psalm 16:11

Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
Romans 12:12

November 11: Where Love Finds Us, It Will Lead Us
Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you. Proverbs 4:25

When my friend Alice started following Jesus, she had no idea the path would lead her to a position of leadership at a company with thousands of employees. But she took her faith into her leadership role, and now she tries to make all her employees feel loved and wanted at work. A lot of these people would never go to church, but they get to see Jesus every day because they see how Alice treats everyone around her. The same can be true for all of us, no matter what role we find ourselves in.

Following Jesus looks different for each of us. A lot of people think they’ll have to move across the world to become a missionary, or start homeschooling their kids, if they get serious about following Jesus. But he didn’t create us to fit into molds that would have us all turn out the same. He created us with special gifts and passions that are uniquely suited to meet different needs in the world. We don’t need to compare different paths to decide which one is right, because God already said He wants us on the ones that lead to Him.
Don’t let the path of other people’s lives make you second-guess your own. There are millions of people from all walks of life, who God wants to meet with His message of love. If you take Jesus to the people around you, and I take His love to those around me, we will cover a lot more ground.

In what ways have other peoples paths distracted you from your own?
