November 16 Jesus Jumped Out of Heaven For the Chance to Save You

Affirmation: I allow myself to love who I am, not who I should be.

~~~~~~~~
Ponder, Personalize, Practice: Create a habit of noticing your thoughts of worry. When worry comes turn your thinking toward God. I do this by focusing on gratitude. I make a mental or written list of all that I am grateful for…air to breathe, the sun, moon and stars, the people around me, the wind, my health, food to eat, water, power, music, …
“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”Matthew 6:33-34 NIV
Cultivate Creativity. Let Go of Comparison.
“I Am a Creative Being” Sign and Self-Potrait.
This lesson’s intention: I am Creative.
RECOMMENDED MATERIALS
Your journal; a piece of 8.5-by-11-inch printer paper; some markers, pencils or waterproof pens; gouache (opaque watercolors); watercolor brushes; and crayons.
INSTRUCTIONS
1. You may not believe our intention "I am a creative being" just yet, but the point of an intention is to make it a practice. Using a simple piece of white 8.5-by-11-inch printer paper, we will make an "I am a creative being" sign.
2. On your piece of paper, use pencil, marker or pen to write "I am a creative being" in very large letters, using the entire page. Use simple letters, bubble letters, cursive or cutouts whatever feels right to you!
3. Decorate the page any way you like with gouache, normal watercolors, stickers or cutout images.
The Active Decision
3. I AM A PERSON OF ACTION. I am Resilient
I will create a new future by creating a new me. I inspire others with my activity. I am a leader. I will create a habit of lively behavior.
I will walk with a spring in my step and a smile on my face. My activity will create a wave of success for the people who follow me. As a leader, I have the ability to encourage and inspire others to greatness. I do not fear failure, because failure exists only for the person who quits.
I do not quit. I am courageous. I am a leader. I seize the moment. I choose now. I am resilient.
Jesus Jumped Out of Heaven For The Chance To Save You
“Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” Luke 6:38
I read a story about a young girl diagnosed with a rare disease. Her days quickly went from going to school and playing in the yard to lying in hospital beds tangled with tubes. The doctors ran test after test and concluded she needed an extensive blood transfusion to survive. But finding a matching donor was going to be tough. The parents were tested, but the results came back negative. She had a little brother, and he was a match because they were family, which made him the best candidate. The parents kept this information to themselves until there was no other options.
One night, while tucking him into bed, they told him. They didn’t ask him directly if he would do the procedure, since that would be too much pressure. But he could read between the lines and said, “Can I have the night to think about it?” The next morning, he told his parents he would do it. The siblings were soon sharing a hospital room with tubes running between their beds. As the transfusion was about to begin, the little boy waved the doctor over.
“Yes?” The doctor said. The boy asked, “How soon will it be before I die?“ You see the little boy, thought that by helping his sister, he would have to give up his own life. And he said “yes” anyway.
Few of us will ever have to face this kind of choice. But all of us will get the chance every day to do what it takes to get people what they need. Will it be hard? You bet. Will it be uncertain and sometimes scary? Of course. Jesus must’ve felt the same way. Yet when God gave Jesus the chance to get everything for us, he didn’t hesitate. He jumped out of Heaven to do it.
Who are you willing to sacrifice for?
