November 28 Choose Forgiveness and Grace Before You Need to Give It Away…

Happy Thanksgiving!
Affirmation: I am imperfect & I am enough.
(Give thanks in all circumstances.)
~~~~~~~
Ponder, Personalize, Practice: Personalize this verse and give thanks to God for all that you have in your life. Then communicate thanks to those around you. Finally, give thanks and appreciation to yourself…God created you.❤️
“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”                1 Thessalonians 5:18
Wholehearted Guidepost from Brené Brown
Guidepost 8: Cultivating Calm and Stillness and Letting Go of Anxiety as a Lifestyle
“Imagine you have a pot of boiling water on the stove, and you want to cool it down. So you add a block of ice to the water. This cools it down briefly, but soon enough, the heat is back and the water is boiling. So you add more ice, and the process repeats. Soon enough, you’re out of ice, and the water is boiling over.
But what if you slowed down enough to turn down the heat on the stove? Or better yet, turned it off entirely?
This is the approach many people take with anxiety. They think “Anxiety has always been around in the past, I just need a better way to manage it.”
Which is like looking for bigger ice cubes instead of figuring out how to turn off the stove.
And understanding how to turn off that stove requires space in your life for calm and stillness. This is time for emotional processing and self-regulation. To feel what’s going on in your life, question, dream, and explore possibilities.”
Mastering the 7 Decisions from Andy Andrews
The Responsible Decision
The Buck Stops Here!
Each of you must be responsible to do your creative best with your life. Gal. 6:4
If decisions are choices…and our thinking dictates our decisions—then I am where I am because of my thinking.
The Responsible Decision for Personal Success represents the beginning. Taking responsibility for your past will segue you into an extraordinary future of your choosing.
My thoughts will be constructive---NEVER destructive.
Responsibility is about HOPE and Control. Make better choices.
Choose Forgiveness and Grace Before You Need to Give It, And People Will Know That With You They Always Have It.
“The Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory.” Deuteronomy 20:4
When my daughter was still young, I tried to think of how I could encourage her when things went bad. When something goes wrong in our lives, it is hard to accept words of encouragement in the moment. We are too stuck on beating ourselves up when the disappointment is raw and fresh. Then I had a Eureka moment. I decided I would write her letters in advance, covering as many bad things that might happen as I could, and bury them under a tree in front yard for her to read later.
For instance, on one of the notes I wrote, “I forgive you for wrecking my car.” It seemed odd writing it when Lindsay was as tall as my knee caps, but guess what? It happened! So we dug up the note, and she knew I really meant it was OK because I had forgiven her more than a decade before.
Instead of waiting to pounce when people make mistakes, what if we geo-cache some grace? In a world where everyone is constantly told how they screwed up, what if we were the ones telling people, “Whatever happened, I still love you.”
When people think of Switzerland, they think of peace and banks and yodeling sheep. Whenever countries go to war, they sign a peace treaty there. Switzerland cornered the market on being friends with the whole world.
When people think of me, I want them to know they can bank on grace. I want to be more like Jesus, who already wrote the letter, saying, I was forgiven, no matter how big the mistake.
What encouragement from God do you need today?
(Give thanks in all circumstances,
for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”                1 Thessalonians 5:18)
