January 16: He is Willing—Just Ask

Affirmation: I allow myself to love who I am, not who I “should” be.
This is also a good journal entry. You are lovable just as you are.

Ponder and Personalize: Focus on these 6 words as you ponder and meditate today. Then personalize these words..Do not be anxious about anything. Be aware of worry, fretting and anxiety and talk to God about the concern and your emotions.

”Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.“

         He is Willing—Just Ask
A man with leprosy came, and knelt before him and said, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.” Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man, “I am willing.” He said “Be clean!” Immediately he was cleansed from his leprosy

Matthew 8:2–3.

One of Jesus‘s miracles was healing a man with leprosy. At the time, everybody thought leprosy was highly contagious and kept their distance. But in this story, when a leper saw Jesus and said “if you’re willing, you can make me clean.” Jesus didn’t shy away or keep his distance. Instead, he responded, with no hesitation, “I am willing.” Isn’t that beautiful? Let this phrase sink in for a second. Jesus is willing.
Here’s the thing. Jesus was not only willing for the man with leprosy, but he’s willing for you—right now, immediately, no hesitation. He’s not pouting about your failures; he’s willing about your future.

Perhaps you feel contagious pain, or doubt or fear or frustration. All you might need to do to combat these feelings is to have an honest conversation with God and make it the same statement to Him  that the leper did: “If you are willing, you can make me clean.” Make this a declaration of faith, not a question about it.

Jesus is willing with your relationships, to sort them out, to give you clarity and perspective, to bring the right people into your life.

He is willing with your job, to give you a better or different one, or to give you a better or different perspective on the one you have.

He is willing with that friend of yours who is facing what seems like an overwhelming difficulty, to bring them comfort and to show them what to do next.

Take what is troubling you right now and say these words over it: “He is willing.”
