January 29: They Will Know You By Your Supernatural Love

Affirmation: My self-compassion is growing day by day.

“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” – Isaiah 40:31

”What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?“‭‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭31‬ ‭NIV‬‬https://bible.com/bible/111/rom.8.31.NIV
~~~~~~~Ponder and Personalize:
Continue to meditate on the thoughts and directives in these verses. The last part of the sentence answers the “Why?” question.
What does the Book of the Law tell us to do? Is it still relevant to you and me today?
Joshua 1:8-9
Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”
They Will Know You By Your Supernatural Love
And if the spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead, will also give life to your immortal bodies because of his spirit who lives in you. Romans 8:11
It is easy to be mistaken, about who Jesus is in our busy and sometimes fraught lives. Often times, we mistake Him for somebody who is measuring and keeping a tally of our good conduct. I promise you this: Jesus didn’t come to die so we would behave better. He doesn’t want us to be a better version of ourselves either; He wants us to be more accurate reflection of Him.
You are the best evidence to the world that Jesus was raised from the dead. People can see it in the way you choose to treat those you encounter. The way you exhibit,m grace, that is otherworldly, love that is supernatural, peace that is unexplainable. What does your life look like to the people around you? Do you look like Jesus, or are you just another person running scared and trying to get ahead?
You will know you are attending your fire well, for example, if you find yourself putting a check on how you treat the clerk at the store. Sure you got in the wrong line at the checkout, and it feels like your clothes are going out of style while that clerk makes painfully slow progress and turns a couple-of-second-task into a couple-of -minute-task. Do you go with your first instinct and blow a gasket, or do you find another response and be kind and patient?
If you want a different outcome than what you’ve been seeing, adopt a new strategy. Decide in advance that you’re going to go with your second reaction, not your first one. Your lesser angels will send in retreat plays whenever frustrating situations happen, but your better angels will shake it up and remind you that the power that lives within you is the same one that raised Jesus from the dead. That plays out in your life when you respond to people differently than you might have before.
Get out there, chase after some whimsy, and may go make a difference.
