February 2: You Won’t Find God on Google Maps…

Affirmation: I am at the right place, at the right time doing the right thing.

“For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.”‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭1:7‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Ponder, Personalize & Practice:

The promise: “…Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Hold on to this promise as you go through each day. “…Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Repeat this last sentence often. You are never alone.❤️

Joshua 1:8-9

“Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”

You Won’t Find God on Google Maps; God Is Where The Helpers Are
The king will reply, “Truly, I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” Matthew 25:40
In Matthew 25, Jesus, dropped us a pin for where we can always go to meet Him. If you are looking for Jesus, He said you need to find hungry or thirsty people, sick or strange ones, naked, people, or people in jail. If we’re going to do this, we’re going to need to get out of the church building after we worship together, leave the home where Bible study is held, and engage the opportunities around us. God said He doesn’t inhabit dwellings made by men, but He always inhabits those people who are doing His work.

Find opportunities to get in the blast radius of where Jesus said He can always be found. If our heads are on a swivel, and our hearts are willing, we can lift our eyes and see opportunities that already have us surrounded. Feed hungry people by loading up your car with food and handing it out under bridges, in parks, or where the homeless gather. Give thirsty people water bottles. Find a hospital or elder care facility where sick people could use a boost. Seek out someone you have avoided because they were a little strange and engage them with love. Give your best to someone who needs clothing. Visit a jail or a prison and befriend a couple of inmates. You don’t have to wonder whether it will work out well or not; Jesus said He will be there every single time as you do these things.

The crazy part of the economy God operates within is that He does not need our help, but He does want our hearts. When you find your place to serve, don’t make a big deal about it. You don’t need matching hoodies or wristbands or team cheers. There’s nothing wrong with these things, but don’t let them distract you from looking for what it is God was up too long before you arrived on the scene. Replace the selfie with “them-ies” (again not a word, but it should be.)

See what God has invited you into and come as an engaged guest ready to assist in what He is already doing rather than coming with a plan for how you would do it better.
